“The Blind Side” of The “New” Moon

The Twilight Saga: New Moon absolutely mangled the box office this weekend with an estimated $140,700,000 gross on 8,500 screens blinding us all to the accomplishment of another movie that opened this past Friday, The Blind Side. The Blind Side topped Coach Carter for  highest-grossing sports drama opening weekend, with an impressive $34,500,000 estimated gross on 4,100 screens. New Moon also tore into the previous records for opening day and midnight showing gross, posting totals of $72,700,000 and 26,300,000, respectively.  For more details on this weekend’s box office numbers, head on over to Box Office Mojo.
