“Paranormal Activity” displays some paranormal activity over the weekend!

By definition, the word paranormal “is a general term that describes unusual experiences that lack a scientific explanation,or phenomena alleged to be outside of science’s current ability to explain or measure “. Well the horror flick, “Paranormal Activity”, was a phenomenon that was definitely outside of my, as well as others’, current ability to explain, raking in $7.1 million this past weekend, on 160 screens, to place no. 5 overall at the box office. 7.1 mil on 160 screens?!?! This means it made $44,162 per screen! Dude, it was shot mostly with a camcorder for Pete’s sake, and only cost like 15 grand to make! Let’s put this into perspective, shall we? The weekend winner, “Couple’s Retreat”, did, roughly, $35 million on a whopping 3,000 screens, or $11,667 per screen, on a budget of $60 million. Can ya’ feel me? It’s moments like these that make me realize my lack of true creativity! Oh sure, I can crack people the hell up at will, as I’m sure I’m cracking you the hell up right now, but it didn’t make me $7.1 milion in profits over the weekend. And, by the way, “Paranormal” goes nationwide next weekend. I think I’m gonna’ go grab that bottle of “Jack” that’s always so good to me and toast to my mediocrity. Anyone care to join me?
